Missing in Action!!!

Trying to find tome to put some things on my blog has become very difficult lately. Trying to find time to spend with my sewing machine has been even harder. Working longer hours and more days takes up most of my time.
Oh well, here's what I've been up to....
I had so much fun with making this but now not so sure if I would actually use it.

This is Hatched and Patched's latest BOM. As I said in a previous post I have never been able to do needle turn applique but was determined to get it right for this quilt. I just love these fabrics.

Here's my Simple Things BOM. I have just about finished all the stitchery on it. Sorry about the crap photos but hopefully it will give you an idea. That will do for today. Off to lunch with friends.

Just a quick post.

Here is just a quick post of what I've been up to lately.
This is my first completed needle turn applique attempt. I normally start something, don't believe it's good enough, then turn it into blanket stitch applique.  However, this quilt needed to be done in needle turn applique I felt. I loved every little stitch I did on this piece. It's block one of Hatched and Patched new Block of the month.

Off to work today.
Take care

Craft show.

Just home from the Melbourne Craft Show. Lots of new gadgets there. The sewing foot that sews circles from Punch with Judy looked to be getting the most attention. As  I seem to have the rest of my year filled with sewing projects I didn't buy too much. Just a couple of fabric bundles.gee the first photo is a bit blurry isn't it.

This was  afternoon tea at the crown. There is this amazing shop there that has about 50 different cakes and cheesecakes all freshly made and to die for. I had a Mars Bar Cheesecake.

It's been along time since my last post.......

Over the last few weeks I have had email and typepad problems that no one could fix. Just as mysterioulsy as
the problems arrived they left again. No idea why.

Sydney was a great weekend as always. My online patch and chat group was formed nearly 6 years ago by Carey Golledge. The previous owner of Honeysuckle cottage. There are 20 members from Australia, 2 from America and 1 from New Zealand.  We have a yearly catch up at the Sydney Craft show in June for those who can make it. 3 years ago we all met except for one lady.

Here is a photo of a quilt we made for Julie. Claire organised the quilt by sending us all the cream fabric and instructions to make it in blue colorings to go in her lounge room. Julie is on the floor. It is amazing what our group can do from different parts of the world.

IMG_1600a On the Saturday night we met for dinner and had show and tell.  This is Claire's quilt she made from a 2 and a half inch swap we had, Years before Moda made them famous by calling them Jelly rolls.
IMG_1617aHere is Bennie's disapearing nine patch quilt. These are my favourite colors and I just wanted to take it home with me.

IMG_1605a That's all my photo's from Sydney. Have more postings of my latest purchases to follow soon.
Have you had a relaxing and productive weekend.

Nice People Nice things.

These are some of the blocks for my Nice People Nice Things Quilt. I am doing it differently to the Quilt as you go method that the kit suggests you do. I made most of these while on holiday in April. I will be taking them to Sydney this weekend to do at the Airport.  This will be the 4th year of going to Sydney in June. Only once has my flight been on time. The worst it was delayed was 8 hours due to bad fog. Last year it was only 2 hours. So I will take plenty of stitching to do at the airport......just in case.
They are very quick and fun little stitcheries to do.
Oh dear my 17 year old has just started vacuuming her room. I wonder what she wants!!!!!!!!!!! Trust me, she has only ever done this once before. Oh no, not a party while we are away!!!!!!

Over the last week.....

P6080277 This pattern arrived this week. It's called Between Friends by Quilt Soup. Love their patterns. This one is very bright  but I could see my collection of Mrs March just looking perfect. I did a test run with this but it was just too pale. So this afternoon  changed it all.
Carey from http://blueberrylane.typepad.com/  set a challenge for us earlier this year. She sent me some green strips 2 and a half inches wide and I think 9 inches long and I had to use these in a quilt. Well I've changed my mind so many times but when I saw this pattern I thought.. Just perfect.  Trying to place these photo's a little better but after half an hour this is the best I can do.
Hope you are all having a great and productive long weekend.

Peanut Butter Fudge.

P6010264 P6010269 Look at this!!!!!!  It was suppose to have chocolate melts in it but my dear husband thought I meant cadbury chocolate.
400 g milk or dark chocolate
400 g white chocolate
1 cup crunchy peanut butter

Combine half the peanut butter with the milk/dark chocolate until smooth. Combine the remaining peanut butter with the white chocolate until smooth.
Cool slightly.

Drop spoonfuls of white chocolate mixture and dark chocolate mixture into a lined 18cm by 28cm slice tin. Gently shake pan to level mixture then pull s skewer backwards and forwards through for a marbled effect.

Refrigerate until set.

I wonder if that plate will stay untouched until after dinner tonight at my nephews birthday dinner.
I also wonder how long will it take for 9 teenage boys and 1 teenage girl to finish it off.
