Butterly Garden Block One

I started Block one of Butterfly Garden on Friday and did the next row yesterday. I have nearly  finished stitching the flowers. I am using the swell range of fabrics which is something quite different for me. I just love it.  Yesterday I used my rotary cutting board to cut the blocks. It was  so much quicker to do it that way.  Hope to get the next row done tomorrow. Carey  at Blueberrylanedesigns did hers on the weekend and it looks fantastic.

Look at these beautiful flowers I was given the other day from the girls I worked with.  I have been transferred to another branch/ We are all going out to a Turkish Restaurant next Friday. Can't wait.

Beautiful fabric.

Look what arrived this morning, Beautiful 1930's fabric. The colors in this photo just do the fabric justice. So many ideas so little time. Back to work tomorrow!

My new bag

Look at my new bag I made today.I'm so happy with it. Usually the bags I make don't turn out the best. This is the Sherbet pattern from Melly and me. So easy. I had to have a black and white bag.

Carey's challenge

If anyone reads  blueberrylane they will read she has set us both a challenge to make something out of 50 2 and a half inch strips. She will send me the strips and I need to send her a metre of backing fabric. At first I thought OMG I can't do this. But that's what I said about starting a blog. So, this is the year for challenges. I can do anything I want......I think, I hope and I wish. So wish me good luck. The strips are a Mrs March fabric in a beautiful green. I thought I may use these Mrs March fat quarters I was sent last year for my birthday from my secret sister. I can't wait to get started. So many idea's going through my head.

My new toy

Sorry, here is the front of the book.

Look at this new book I bought. On the outside it is like an ironing board, the inside has a cutting mat, teflon for ironing and the sand paper. Great for someone like me who doesn't have a sewing room.  Just sits on the kitchen bench and the ironing 'board' is always ready for me.And it only cost me $23.00......bargain!!!!!! I got it on sale. Normally priced at $29.00.
